Hi Everyone- I am new to this forum and first time to ever use a forum. I have a 98 Pontiac Grand Prix that I bought last February for $3500 the heater core went out a month after then the head gasket blew. It has been sitting in my back yard ever since and I don't know if I should have everything fixed on it. Sell it as is for like $1500-$2000 or sell it part by part. I'm a female obviously and really need some guidance on what to do. I live in Rock Hill, SC if anyone is interested in seeing the vehicle or know of someone who would be interested in it. I tried to post this in the for sale section but it wouldn't let me maybe because I'm new.

I had a local mechanic look at it and that is what he said. He is a friend of the families and although we have had him do small jobs for us I'm not crazy about him doing a big job just in case something goes wrong or it ends up costing us more than he quoted I don't want it to end friendships if you know what I mean.

He had also said if he was to fix it he would fix both heads while he was doing the one. He would charge us $750 but he said he wouldn't know if it needed a new radiator until he got in to fix the heads. Which maybe is true but I don't like unforseen costs. The heater core is indeed also broke because it is leaking the radiator fluid on my passenger side floorboard.

They ran a switch inside the car that I had to turn on to keep the fans running so the car wouldn't get over heated. Eventually the head gasket busted.
