Actually the 78- 87 Grand prix is a G body
here is a quote from wikipedia
"1982 to 1988 G-bodies began production designated as A-body cars in 1978, but were redesignated as G when the new front wheel drive A-body was introduced in 1982."

In all fairness I have seen some sites refer to the 79 Grand prix as a A/G body or G body special but most of the G body owners just call it a G body

I have hade 13 g- bodys including montes regals and cutlasses
