    Greetings all.

In the market for a new(to me) vehicle.

The looks of the 97-03 GP's have really been growing on me lately & I've been giving them a serious look.

Money wise, the 97-00's would be best at the moment. And it will probably be a GT, as it doesn't require premium as S/C GTP's do.

Despite my lurking around here & other places & doing some searches ... there are still tons of questions I have, which I will definitely get around to asking.

Long story short, try not to beat me up too bad when I start asking all my questions.

    Welcome to the community.

You wont get beat up here, so ask away.

    By the way:

    17 Gallons x $4.00/gal = $68.00 (87 Octane)
    17 Gallons x $4.20/gal = $71.40 (91 Octane)

So $3.40 difference per tank. Yeah, a little more when you think of it over the course of a year or so, but not that bad and would not sway me personally from buying a GTP. Ive been buying premium for the last 7+ years over the last two vehicles Ive had. The Rodeo I bought recently is the first vehicle in that time frame that Ive had that used regular. And, well, that may change down the road after I get the GTP back together.

    Thanks everyone.

Never say never I guess ...

I suppose I could be convinced to do a GTP if it could match the MPG of a GT without having to toss a bunch of money at it.

I'm also unsure at this point if I will be driving it everyday, or my wife. If it ends up being her ... the GT would be more than enough car.

Anyway, time to fire off of my 1st questions in the "Appearance" forum.

welcome to the site, and good luck on your future purchase...I recently bought my 2002 GTP,(I love it!!) and did it with the absolute certainty that it had to be a GTP because I knew if I didn't get it supercharged I would regret it later...as far as having to use premium...maybe i'm the only one to notice but i find when i use premium in my regular cars i get better mileage out of them...so the difference in cost balances out with the additional miles i get...plus I believe it's better for the fuel system overall, remeber fuel injectors are quite costly to replace, laborwise anyway...and as Scotty pointed out the difference in fuel cost is quite small, so I highly recomend test driving both a GT and a GTP before you make your decision,(once you taste the boost you'll know what I'm saying) I got my GTP with 60k on it for under 10 grand, spread it over five years your payments will be under 250 a month.....as for mileage, in my GTP I average 21.5 mpg mostly city driving, as soon as i get to take a trip with it I'll know what highway does.. but not to worry if you still have to do the GT, a top swap down the road will get you where you want to be....
p.s. A buddy of mine lives in pompano beach, I was down visiting in december...man I love miami!!!!! but anyway the way they drive down there....you'll really want it super charged

Welcome. GTP's Rule. I have one of each, GT and a GTP. Can't complain about either one, but I do like my GTP better.
