hello to all, I'm Jon from Milan,Tn.
have a question for you guys, I have a 98 GTP,have had it for almost 2 years now, it has been sitting up for a little over a year , give or take.
so just last week finally took the motor outto replace the flywheel, is busted all to crap on me, so i had an extra engine laying around for it, because i had actually thought i blew the motor in it, then futher inspection it was the flywheel, so the other motor was out of a 99 Regal, and had the flywheel on it, so i took it off and put on my other motor, but before i did that, i did call trying to find a new flywheel, called my local GM dealership and they said they couldn't get me flywheel for it, said i'll have to find a website, so i searched for a few hours and came up nothing. so i went ahead and stuck my used flywheel back on there and put a new motor mount on also.
well the thing is now, while it's running ethier in park or drive whichever sometimes, it makes a rattling nosie then goes to like it's grinding, when under any throttle at all it completely stops, sometimes it does it and sometimes it don't do it at all, has anybody else had this problem? maybe the used flywheel had a hairline crack in it? something that wasn't visible to the eye until heated up? first time i have ever messed with a frontwheel drive car, so i'm stuck, don't nobody around where i live act like they know anything about cars as bad as that sounds.
btw all the nosie is coming from the driver side of the motor where the bellhousing bolts to the block. when it does it the whole car shakes a little bit acting like it kind of wants to die out.
i know this is a bit much for my first post, but i'm completely lost with this one and need all the help i can get.
