I have a 2000 grand prix se with a 3.1. When I push the gas peddle more then half way or mash on it it bogs down once it gets to 3500rpm. It like it wants to go but it don't. I've replace the throtale postion sensor, plugs and wires, fuel filter, added Lucas injetor cleaner, Intake cleaner. Afetr all this it seemed to help some but the problem still exists. Now I can push the peddle to the floor it will go then it will bog down if I eas up slightly then push it down again it will clear out and go just fine. Anyone have any input. I'm running out of ideas here.

Also having issues with the fuel gauge. 9 out of 10 times it reads full. When indeed theres a half of a tank the other 10th of a time it reads empty. Turn car off start it back up it will read full. Bad ground??? I've replaced the dash cluster with no luck. Gauge may fluxuate from time to time otherwise its full or empty. Any input would greatly be appreciated.

CEL on? Most times fuel related issues will only truly occur during start up, after its running its mostly ignition, but this doesnt sound like either

CEL is off hasn't tripped since replacing the throtule postion sensor. It was the same code every time according to Auto Zone and they said the CEL came on for one of the following: Front O2 sensor, week cooling fan, low fuel line pressure. The ruled the low fuel line pressure out cause it runs fine under 3500 rpm. Just got back from the back pressire test and they say cat is fine.

As far as the fuel gauge it's crazy. Says fuel may fluxuate in driveway start driving and then it will say empty Low fuel light comes on as well drive for 10-20 min it will say full again. Brand new Dash Cluster so I know it ant that. Was told it could be a bad ground from the fuel tank to the car. But I dont know where the ground wire mounts to the car. Wires under the access panel are fine.

next to the gas tank under the car there is a plug that is perpendicular to the ground, pull that and look at the terminals...make sure there is no arcing going on...under acceleration there maybe just enough movement to make that arcing make the car run like ****...
depending on the wire, will also throw false readings from the sender in the gas tank...

That wouldn't by chance be located by the passenger rear tire above the front of the muffler would it. I seen two electric plugs there earlier but didnt know what they were for So I left them alone. In the truck above them was what looked to be a stainless steel plate that had wires running to it couldn't see what color wire for it was wrapped in a casing and the wires came up from behind the backseat where it meets the trunk floor.

If I'm under the car there would be I believe 2 plugs parallel to each other. Do I unplug both or just one and check. Not sure which is which.

Thanks for the input everybody it's very helpful

Sorry it took me so long to get back busy schedule. Ok so I looked at those terminals under the car. The harness itself is clean as a bell. How ever there were 3 or 4 teminals that had a copperish looking color on the end. The rest looked fine. Are those 3 or 4 teminals going bad?

very well could be, go to your GM garage and order the full fuel pump wiring whip, cost me $85 3 years ago and they had it in stock (if that doesnt tell you something) easy fix for a very annoying running condition
