Whats good guys/gals, im currently new to the grand prix scene, former maxima, mustang owner...always raised on gm and finally come back, current vehicle is 2000 gp gt 4 dr dark blue 3.8 series 2 with 194k on it, a few issues, stupid little things such as maf crapped out, needs an air pump from which i hear is very common for these cars, also needs some sort of airbag module or sensor(light is on) and my low coolant light goes on and off randomly even though there is sufficient coolant in recovery tank and radiator, but nothing of major concern to me, just wanted to introduce myself.Looking forward to many repairs answers and questions as well, and probably some modding as i am 26 and modded the hell out of my maxima and mustang previously, first off is the stereo system, and that restrictive intake needs to go

Yeah im sure the exhaust is restrictive, dont worry thats another thing on my list to "fix" as the flange near the cat coming from the manifolds is rotting away and has a leak so im probably going to build my own, probably with 2.5 inch pipes....then some flowmasters...... but dont worry im a nice guy too as am i a prick also LOL....So anyone else got some pointers for me as far as "cheap" mods?>

    3" or bust.

Cheap mods would be a 3" catless downpipe OR speed daddy headers.

A one bend 4" intake or an open cone intake.

    Street tune.

Welcome! These cars are cheap as all get-out to mod. You can get quite a bit of bang for your buck and these guys know how!

Well, i dont know where you guys find your parts, but as far as performance goes, i have yet to see cheap parts anywhere online....cheapest catback ive seen so far is 500 buckswhich isnt to bad however for a good one they want 1200....thats crazy steep...i paid 570 for a full stainless catback for my maxima about a year ago...but maybe you guys know some places i dont lol, and my question to you all is....can i put a fem emissions cat on a cali emissions car? im not really a big fan of paying 600 for a cat... also what intake would you recomend? i was thinking of buildin my own CAI

    Enfield checking in.

If you are looking for a catback...can yours be patched for the time being? I say that because there's frequently a local selling a cat back.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

I plan on sticking with my stock catback. As for dp, I plan on getting ssac headers and since it comes with a dp I just plan on putting a magnaflow cat on it. As for intake I'm doing a K&N panel with cutting a bigger opening for the stock box.
