    Hey everyone one i absolute love pontiacs and i think im going to be purchasing a 1999 grand pre gtp 3.8 L supercharged and thought i would introduce myself ... my name is ashley ... i live in ohio and if i do purchase the gtp tommorrow im going to upload some pictures of it if i get it i would love for anyone's opinion on what they would do to it

    welcome I have a 97 red coupe GTP I love it. Where in ohio do you live?
    Red GTP coupe, Intake, Poly Dogbones. 8K HID's, Headers, DIY HUD, Aeroforce Scan Gauge,Kenwood Excelon KDC-X794, MSR 045 18" rims, Borla Cat-Back.

    I disprove of peoples actions, and want to mega man punch them in the testicals.

    okay i purchased a 1999 GTP yesterday , it seems to have a problem starting , maybe the stater is going out but the car does start just not on the first ignition, ill post some pictures of it as soon as possible .

    possible FPR or leaky injector causing you to have low FP at start up?

    Whats the crank speed?

    to be honest im not sure whats wrong or the crank speed , i know that the head gaskets were replaced / and the battery , im cure it could be a number of things either starter , battery connection ... but i dont know the crank speed or if it is the fps

    FPR is an easy check.

    Pull off the vacuum line on the FPR and if it smells like gas, replace the FPR.

    fuel pressure regulator

    Could just be a dying battery too.


    Try this first:
    try putting the key and turning it to on leave it for 5 seconds, turn it off, back on, leave it for 5 seconds then try starting.

    If it starts quicker then you have a fuel issue
