Hey This is my first post. I am looking at a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix SE with just over 71K miles on it for $5,995 Does that seem like a good deal. Is it a good car over all?

The grand prix's are very good reliable cars with bullet proof engines.
There are obviously still lemons, so doing your research is a very good idea.
As far I can tell though, sounds a little costly. The market is much different from canada to the us though, so I'm not sure where you are, but if your in the U.s,one of the other guys will have to answer this one. haha

    Welcome to the site!
The used Grand Prix market has been stable to slightly increasing lately.
One thing I would do is check out www.kbb.com for a price in your area. The car itself, if properly maintained, will last a long time. Figure 300,000 miles plus. Recently in my area there have been a couple "SE" cars for sale in th $4500 range but they have more miles on them (150,000) and may not be quite as sharp as this is Michigan and Michigan winters feature LOTS of salt on the roads.
And of course, no one ever pays the asking price

Welcome aboard! Can you tell me what options are on the car - power seats, cruise, CD, etc etc.

    Thanks - Swash

Welcome Bud! I seems a little high but the car could be in perfect shape... In my opinion, If you plan on modding the car and you wanna have a real street heater, I would prob look for a GTP Supercharged. Absolutly nothing against all our N/A friends!!!! Its just that the GTPs are much easier to get high HP numbers from. The 3800 is a great engine, so if you go N/A or S/C, you will very rearly have any issues. Welcome.

I dunno if I'd say that...lol. Better base performance, quick and easy ways to get instant gains with minimal bolt ons...sure. But slap a turbo on a NA motor...yeah...that right there is "high HP numbers".
