I just registered and am looking forward to checking out this site. I do have a quick technical question if anyone can help. I have a 2005 GTP that I just got back from the body shop. (The wife rear-ended a Land Rover and f'd up the hood etc)

The gap between the hood and the top of the front bumber is HUGE. (I can fit my hand under the hood and feel the hood release lever without pulling the lever on the inside!) I do not remember it being that large when it was pre-accident. The body shop said to bring it back so they could see whats up; my question is does anyone know what the actual measurement and/or tolerance should be for this gap?

Thanks in advance for any input.

Well there's your first mistake you let your wife drive it ... no, joking. I would definately take it back, ask them to repair it correctly and if they cant, ask for your money back and tell them you'll take it to someone who can. Bring pictures with you to show them how the gap between the hood and bumper is supposed to look and let them know they aren't even close.

    Acknowledged on that first mistake.

The body shop said to bring it in so they can figure out whats up. I was hoping to come up with a dimension to tell them (or a picture).

    Thanks

You can look up some of the other member's car pics that have the same year GTP and compare them. These front view ones I just googled. Hope they help ...

Thank you very much. I downloaded onto my phone so I can show them at the shop.
