I had this on a 3100 in a buick. Car leaked mildly forever, and then one day after an oil change it just puked oil all down the street, luckily I turned it off immediately and had it towed to the shop that did the change. (I was in an apartment at the time and didn't have access to DIY) I figured a filter gasket or something but no, the timing was coincidental, the sending unit which had been leaking all along just gave out and spewed oil.
