Hi everyone. Newbie post here. Last week I ended up purchasing my first Grand Prix. Second Pontiac I’ve owned. My old ride was an 01 bonneville. Tranny started getting tired and then I came along this gem.

New whip is an 05 Grand Prix GT. Color is a burnt orange. At first I almost hated the color, but after seeing it shine in the sun it has grown on me a lot. Surprisingly for a Florida car the paint managed to survive the 12 years in the sun. Guess I have to write that up to the old lady who owned it before me. She ended up buying this paint protection program where she got it waxed as much as she wanted over ten years. That and her records also had the oil changed every 3000 miles on the dot. 2 tranny fluid flushes.

Cleaned the TB and she’s idling as smooth as ever. Evidently the she named her car Nascar which is odd but I won’t change the name now. Funny is on the way home hit the highway and the plastic heater core elbows blew out. Had to pay for a $10 tow home. Slapped on the aluminum elbows and flushed the dexcool out and no problems since.

Only mod so far was an aux in to the CD player so I could use an iPod.
    Future mods and thoughts.
5 button DIC (don’t know how to deal with the odometer yet)
headers (lol saw them on eBay, prolly bad idea)
that zzp intake runner insert thing (this would be at the time of intake gaskets)
    high ratio rockers or cam...
spark plugs and wires (still original ones in car)(acdelcos are 4-401 I think)
    touch screen head unit
    2005 Pontiac Grand Prix GT
    87000 miles - bone stock

Welcome, Friend ! A wise move would be "Make it last, before you Make it fast". Get caught up on any maintenance needed (you already mentioned plugs & wires), check out your struts and front end parts, sway bar bushings, brakes, belt & hoses etc. Make her a solid base for future mods.
For the record : I am NOT a naked meth-head who shoves rocks up my butt.
