    Hi guys,

I'm Robert and I have a 2001 gp GT coupe with 130k on the clock. First thing I did when I got the car was run down all the maintenance, then started mods! Here's my list thus far zzp 1.0 pcm, fwi, u bend and resonator delete, Taylor 8.0 mm wires, 180 t stat. Now I will say I can most definitely feel every bit of all that but I have the urge for more, not a lot more I don't wanna turbo or top swap. What else can I Do without digging too deep? Thanks guys. Btw how can I get a pic on here?

Btw those are mods that are already on the car not a wish list. And I have been over and over that topic, this is my 6th gp over the years but I have always had gtp's so I was always able to just support a pulley drop and gain loads. I have an 04 GT right now also that's my daily this coupe is my baby. I can see plug wires as upkeep but the pcm intake and u bend delete are performance mods are they not? I was looking into rockers but seems zzp is out of stock and the other sites cater to l67 cars. If I could lay out stock gtp power out of a l36 I'd be happy since the GT we would feel quicker with the 3.27 gear ratio

I thought the same thing untill the vets attacked me and helped me to see the light....ubend delete jus attributes to better flow do to being restrictive ,stock wires are primarily recommended and as far as the pcm goes, that is usually tuned just better than stock from what i have read....but i do understand your point of view....im sure the vets will chime in to give you more insight.....i potentially could be wrong about it all.....lol!.....also the cai could be a performance modd,i suppose!

You aren't modded.....simply taking care of your car with a full tune up like you did is what made it feel faster.
Mods? Boost is really your only choice. The hv3 insert will help you out some. But in the end. You will want boost

Don't waste your time or money "modding" a GT. What you have done is maintenance and I don't see how you can feel a speed difference?

The wires didn't add any power. Neither did the 180 t-stat nor did the resonator delete. All the resonator delete did was make the car sound all raspy and like crap. The only thing you added that may have added power is the ECU and that is questionable considering how a canned tune is never going to be optimal over an in car tune.

Anything you do to it is your own. If you feel it's worth whatever gain (even a different sound), it's your money.

Back on topic, about the only thing I saw that I would consider is cam/valvetrain work. And like the above poster not so eloquently put, you'll probably want a custom tune for that. There's little things like an electric water pump if the one goes bad, but I wouldn't do it just to take draw off the engine. Take a look around the performance sites. Don't be afraid to ask redundant questions or even email a tech. I'm sure there's more than a few techs here as well. After all, the more I think I know, the less I likely do.

    I'm new here too. Welcome!

Edit: It might sound backward, but the single mod that I found added the most streetable, usable performance was nothing more than upgrading brakes. That adds a very real improvement even if your 3.8's running on 5 misfiring cylinders.

I'm from MN, I don't think there's any members in Minnesota who tune for other people - could be wrong though. But, I haven't heard of anyone.

I emailed ZZPerformance about rockers and have come to the decision I'm going with the hv3 and 1.9 rockers.

Here's a couple new pics guys, still no rocker arms although I am buying a set from a member on here soon. I did get a nice 4inch fender well intake on here, took a little work getting it in. Also had the trans rebuilt, never even knew anything was wrong until the zzp tune, hmm.
