hello, So the GM cars, have a safety feature that when the transmission oil leaks out, does the car become undriveable at this point??

Someone told me the Grand Prix 2002 GT. has this feature, but it's all GM cars?

    Is there truth to this??
    thanks

not like your thinking. it leaks and then stops moving when theres no longer enough fluid in the tranny. then your may have killed it.

    so fix your trans leak.

98 Buick Regal GS, F body brakes, Caddy STS wheels, tinted tails L36 bottom end, lightly ported heads, 1.95 roller rockers, headers, gen 5 N* 3.0 pulley, FSIC, 42 lb injectors, a BrandonHall rebuilt trans, DHP tuned and AEM water/Meth injection https://goo.gl/gpV5kW

Yes. It stops working when it runs out of fluid and then you get to buy a new one.

X2 with Scott. But there is no level reader like in your oil pan or radiator telling how low the fluid is, so there's no "safe kill" feature.

There are HOT/Limp modes of pcm control. Trans temp and slip diagnostics are what put it into those tables
