Hey fellas. New to the forum and the supercharged world. 02 Grand prix 40th ann with 0 mods. Tried clicking on links to get answers but says not found. Anyways, going to order headers, seems SD is the way to go. Any places in Los Angeles that works on these. I can do basic installs but sounds like things don't line up for the headers and bending dipsticks may get me frustrated! lol After that looking to do a Cam (love the sound) and change pulley. This common and ok to do without messing with reliability

I do not believe the SD headers are CARB compliant. I do not know which ones are though.
From my understanding modding a car in Cali is a pain in the ass.

most people do use the sd headers, myself included, but like slick said, they are not carb compliant. I don't know how intensive the inspection is, so a cam may be ok, but is labor intensive, and could also set the P0300 code, and if it does, your car will not pass inspection. the SLP headers may be the only headers that are carb compliant.

OK thanks. I think the VS Cam will still pass smog, but probably not the sound Im looking for and probably won't get too much power from it. So need to decide if its really worth it

If you have a high quality cat converter I don't see why a cammed motor wouldn't pass emissions.
