I cannot imagine how you could still be confused and suspect you came to make trouble. I'm sure you'll noodle it out, in time. Whatever "it" is. Peace.

Or drill an additional hole in your airbox and stick one of these in it.

Worthy! Not to the airbox, but the exhaust. Right at the Y behind the resonator. For freakout factor, lol.

I saw this and figured it was easy enough to do but I did not get any supercharger whine. Any thoughts?

Did you remove the baffle as shown? A single broken vaccuum hose can prevent boost completely, check your car out.

Thats exactly what was on mine and thats what i did with it. Much happier too, for reasons previously stated. This thread is ancient, folks!

this is no bull crap. of all the things i've done to my 2000 GTP since i bought it in december , taking out the old airbox and putting on a 9 inch spectre cone filter made the most noticeable difference. that includes plugs , wires , every filter, every fluid, 3 inch DP, plog, overkill pcm, O2 sensors , PCV valve , royal purple synthetic... out of all that the air filter change was the only thing that improved my fuel mileage, and gave a noticeable difference in throttle response.all done at different times except plugs and wires so i know what made what difference. got about 1.5 mpg from the filter . sounds crazy huh ?

Yes, I did remove the baffle. Ill have to check all the vaccum lines. Sorry about digging up old threads. Im new and did not want to start another thread thats probably been talked about 1000 times lol. I am going to go with the aftermarket but I wanted to at least try this as it was easy to do. Thanks for the replies folks.

Not crazy, you just missed the point. Re-read the original post carefully, its about sound not power. I have used a cone filter, too.

There are videos of before and after the slots at the bottom of the original post so you can hear what it did for mine. No promises what works for others. Heres something to check under your hood: Theres a rectangular black box next to the driver's front side of the s/c, has a vaccum line going in one side and what may appear to be an uncapped nipple on the other. Thats supposed to have a foam filter on it but many are gone. Then along comes somebody looking to fix vaccum lines and they cap that. Instant GT, no boost. Now thats not a very technical description and I understand it may not be helpful but its something I learned poking around the forums. Just continue your studies here and remember to check dates before posting. No crime in posting on an older how-to but other kinds of threads maybe.

I just learned something, lol. Was wondering what was supposed to be on that 2nd nipple. Never plugged it but that little metal clip always had me curious.
