    That $50 filter should last you about 2 wks before it fills with road dirt, dust, rain

    Except for it is completely protected by the fender liner and bumper cover. I did this last spring and the filter still looks like brand new.

    I was gonna say, it's completely sealed in.

    Now if the OP didn't have a fender liner or a fog/head light, then that'd be a different story.

    Looks just like the JMB FWI, but for a third of the price. Good looking out for people that want the "cold air" and not the open cone.

    I've also used Spectre filters from Autozone since they started carrying them years back. Never had an issue and you honestly can't beat the price.
