    The part does not make it bulge. The cowls warp and do it on their own over time. Somewhere in here I posted a picture of one that is warped badly and does not even have the new part installed. The reason is because GM did away with the large retaining plug on the passenger side and redesigned the cowl with a finger on the bottom that hooks under the windshield edge.

    Here's the pic......


    See where the cowl dips back down in the center? That is the exact spot of the finger I am talking about. I think it holds it too tight. This water deflector does not come in contact with the cowl what so ever.
