Thanks FastKatt. :th_thumbsup-wink:

Since this was posted before I got my last post finished, I will go ahead and respond. No need to blame Reptile, you'll see I am the original poster.
I wasnt blaming reptile. I simply stated "perhaps reptile can provide the part #"

The one who discovered that it fit our cars with a little modification, and the one who took the time to figure out what needed to be done to make it work. Then took the time to do a detailed write-up so everyone else wouldn't have to figure it out for themselves.
Thats great that you did this but there are lots of people that have posted write-ups on mods and asked for nothing in return.

If I hadn't spent the last 15 years in the auto glass industry fixing the floorboard lake at least once a week for customers then no one would have even known the part existed once I found it for myself. Also, no where in this entire thread did I ever say it wasn't available elsewhere. Never claimed to be the inventor or did I claim to make them. Here's what I did say in the very first post of the thread....
But you also failed to mention these could be purchased at any Gm dealer for 3.50. Why didnt you provide a part # and let the rest of your fellow members decide for themselves if they would like it shipped from you for $15 or purchased themselves for $3.50

To get one for you, not make you one. People wanted them, I could get them fast and get them to them fast. I doubt you'll find any complaints. As I said, we were still cheaper than gmpartsdirect and got them to buyers 4-5 times faster, if not more.
Seriously, who cares about GMdirect. These could be purchased from any dealer. Most dealers could get these overnight.

As for the price markup you mentioned, I'm sure you'll see if you buy much of anything that businesses don't usually make it a habit of selling you anything for what it cost them. Most aren't going to tell you who their supplier is either. $5 part plus sometimes as much as $8 to ship plus packing materials when needed, and the time involved for me to get them ready to ship and take them to the post office the very next day. Everything went back into getting them shipped out. So, in that, we did sell them for what they were costing us, and then some. We were literally overwhelmed by it at times and contemplated many times on why we were even trying to do it
.
If you were not profiting from this then why were you doing it? Why not just post the part number in your write-up and be done with it?

Fact is, I sent several people the part number when we were just simply too busy to get them shipped out fast enough or they were out of the country and it wouldn't have been cost effective for them to get one from us. So, while you're at it, you can go ahead and mention the fact that companies sell reusable rocker arm bolts that anyone can go to Westlakes/Ace hardware and get themselves for about a $1 each. Oh, and when someone decides to pay extra for "anti-pogo" washers for the tops of their struts, take a long hard look at your cradle washers, a genuine GM part
.
So this makes what you did justifiable? Others are scamming so why not?

If you did get this part from the dealer, who was going to help you if you ran into problems? The part isn't even for the car you are using it on. Think the dealer would help? Maybe, but a long shot. Ask FastKatt who tried to help when he had an issue with his cowling after installing this. I did. Even went as far as to take pics of another Grand Prix with a similar issue that didn't have the part installed to show that it wasn't the part causing it at all.
If anyone gets this GM part #15794785 themselves and still has issues with fitment or continuing water on the floor, I'll STILL be here to help out.
