My first write-up, hope it helps some out there with the same problem.
So recently my Upper Motor bracket broke on me. This was a mistake on my end actually,
after the headers went on somehow the bracket that bolts in there forgot to find it's way back on.
So this was the outcome of course, which I hear this is the bracket that causes the most trouble
So after calling around, the best I could find was 86.00 including two-day shipping on the bracket.
The next morning my dad and I took a trip up to the junkyard to see if maybe there was
a bracket lying around for us to salvage. Apparently there were none, go figure. So we
started looking on some older Buick's and other cars with a decent sized motor.
Anything that would hopefully match up to what the old bracket was. This is what we found.
25.00 dollars later and we brought it home, and it seemed to match up pretty well.
It matches up better by the dipstick than it looks, i will get a better pictures after grinding is done.
Everything except for a small notch on the back, which a little grinding will fix.
I am in progress of working on this right now, so it will be done hopefully in the next few hours or so.
Have a doctors appointment in the meantime, but i wanted to get it posted before my laptop dies.
*****************an hour or two later*********************************************
So bare with me on this one, this is still a how-to thread, but it may be different for everyone
After looking we decided to loose the bottom half and cut the tab off of the one side.
Currently my father is welding in the new tab and pictures will come as we complete the journey
But this is what the piece looks like so far
AND THE FINAL PRODUCT!!!!
MOUNTED!!!
I will explain later, gonna go eat
