Hey guys just got my plastic tank installed all is well and the car runs, but with half a tank of fuel it is registering at full on my fuel gauge, I installed a new fuel level sensor, has anyone else run into this, my car is a 99 GTX and I installed a fuel sending unit from a 03 GTP , I replaced the level sensor before installing it. I don't know if I need to swap some wires or install a resistor in a wire. Any help would be great! Thanks

Shouldn't matter on the sending unit. I would pull it out and turn the key to on and have someone there move the float up and down and watch the gauge on the dash.

Other than rust, what would be the main benefit to this swap?

I figured, but was wondering if I was overlooking something. I'll still be keeping an eye out at junkyards for these.
