Ha yea ik its not the best method, but it worked and looks good. It's been too hot to touch anything on my car, so I haven't had a chance to check it yet.
I got mine to fit ok.... No tape needed! Maybe u trimmed away too much plastic.???
Still can beleive how bright these are! My buddy has a long driveway with trees on both sides. Use to squeeze in between the garage n house and turn around to drive out, now I just back out! Lol
I was going to do a how to on this subject, but I see one is already started. However, I have discovered a much better solution than taping or glueing the bulb in the socket. For me personally, I discovered that both the Cree LED and the SMD LED bulbs would not stay securely in the socket, so this is what I did:
First remove the black plastic clip off of the original stock bulb.

Now clip off the two protruding thingies.

Now just slide the part back onto your prefered replacement LED bulb.

The bulb will now clip into the socket very easily, and stay as secure as the original.
So you wouldn't have to use tape v-leds make a 6k led back up kit. Its pricey, but I'm ordering some friday.I will do a wright up when I install them on my 02 gt.
