This is an old school way, but it worked and it might save someone some time and money. My son came over with his 2000 Firebird for new front brakes. Pulled the pads and found that both lower caliper pins were frozen in place. Couldn't turn them with vice-grips and a 20 oz. ball-pen hammer wouldn't budge them. Liquid Wrench was no help either. Called Napa and found that caliper brackets are on national back-order. Well, just have to fix the old ones. Sprayed them with PB Blaster and the got out the propane torch. Put a can of MAPP gas on it, heated them for about a minute and a half, sprayed again with PB Blaster and they came right out!! Scraped off the old grease, wire brushed and re-lubed them. Popped them in and all was right with the world again. Just one more lesson that I keep trying to teach him---Don't Force it, Finesse it!"
