so you can put 1.9s on stock springs
why would you have to upgrade springs?
who makes a set of cheap springs for it
Gmpartsdirect.com Part# 12589774
Those are L92 springs. You will need different retainers to get the correct height though IIRC.
what retainers would i need
so er rocker arms from zzp those springs and retainers? would i need push rods to?
no you dont need push rods
would you happen to know what retainers id need?
those springs will work with the rocker arms? and where do i get the retainers for the springs
ZZ Performance
would these retainers work
making a new post every hour wont get you answers quicker.
those will work.
When you order or if you order those springs off GMpartsdirect you are going to have to order 15 since they come in packs of 5. Just to let you know. Or you can try to find someone who has bought them already and has two extras.
just trying to get other peoples opinions thanks though
I am confused. I thought this 3.8 the rockers were held on with studs not pedestal mounted.?.?.? Which is it?
there are bolts that hold the rockers to a pedestal to the head.
Man I wish I would have known the 25 ft lb number for reinstalling the rockers when I was putting my L67 together. The gm specs are 11 ft lbs plus 90 degrees! ouch I thought they were gonna break!
GM's just crazy period.
how bout the head bolts 37 ft lbs plus 120 deg! I know it has to be close to 120 ft lbs!
well studs are 90 ft lbs.
but for certain years GM called for an additional 30* on the inner four bolts.
Sorry for the old thread, but Im workin on this now and I need help before I go further.
I got the fronts done, workin on the back now, got the valve cover loose but it wont come out. I've been told by many people that the alternator doesnt need to be removed, and the tensioner assembly with the coolant elbows doesnt need to be removed... and none of that is listed in this howto... he even shows a pic with the rear vc off and the alternator in place, but I just cant seem to get an angle that the valve cover will wiggle out.
Is it possible do finish the job without pulling the coolant elbows and tensioner assembly out? A lot of people said I dont need to... It's an l32.
