Re: Fixing your intermittent stalling problem!
I'm a newbie to this forum - just joined today. GP GT 2000. Just started having a similar problem to what was discussed in the header.
As member sandobar mentions in the previous post - where is the image? It would be REAL helpful.
Thanks in advance!
Re: Fixing your intermittent stalling problem!
Not sure if this is what you are looking for but on my 97 GTP I followed this and it worked. I'm not sure if it is the same on a GT or not.http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h1...nmj/relays.jpg
Re: Fixing your intermittent stalling problem!
I have been using Pittman06's directions for nearly 1 year, and still driving like a champ. Thanks again, Pittman06.
Re: Fixing your intermittent stalling problem!
I would like to know if this also applies to a 2001 GT? And, what direction does the tab get bent if I have this? Up or down?
Re: Fixing your intermittent stalling problem!
From what I can see is the tab just flat, would have been a lot easier if it shows the after picture, but hey.

Re: Fixing your intermittent stalling problem!
I have a '97 GTP and it too is suffering from the starts up and dies right away. I cut the pigtail for the old fuel pump resistor and spliced the ends together to bypass it while I was waiting for the part. I drove it last night about 6 miles, sat for a couple of hours, and then it would not start. Same old symptoms, but the resistor was bypassed! I got the resistor this morning, and installed it. Went to take the kid to school, and the car died on me again only 1/2 mile from my house. It always starts right up with the throttle past half, and I finally got it back home. When I got home, it was still running, so I pulled the speed control relay out, and the car did not die. I went for a 10 mile cruise with the relay out, and the car ran fine. I got home and let it idle for 15 minutes with no problems. I turned the car on and off about 10 times. Should the car run with the speed control relay out of the car? I have checked the fuel pressure, 45 at idle, and 52 off idle. Also, at idle, I have 12.6 volts going to the resistor, and 10.2 volts coming out.

Just wanna verify, you mean NOT 03s? I wanted to try this bc Im trying to do the CPS and having trouble getting the harm balancer nut off. I just took off the lid, and my fuse box doesnt have a relay there...?
