The coolant ports are best plugged at the LIM, 1/4" NPT tap and plug works nicely there.

From my limited understanding, porting is more for increasing the airflow, reducing turbulence and heat buildup, and in turn reducing the probability of kr. After porting there will be a decrease in boost, due to the air flowing more easily.

I would also like to see the pics you have, Jeff. I'm working on a Gen III right now, and any tips would be appreciated.
