Thread: Questions on body control module replacement

I am having problems with my BCM. It is causing my Grand Prix's temp gauge to go up. Problem is I have to take it to a dealer that is 40 miles away to get it fixed am and not sure if it is just a gauge error or it will over heat. Can I install the BCM myself and just take it in to be programmed? Will it run if I replace it without programming it?

What makes you think it's the BCM and not an issue with the cooling system or coolant temp sensor itself?

Agreed.

I replaced mine with a JY one and got "Starting Disabled" probably because of a mismatched VIN.
