I am trying to research all about rockers because I am interested in putting some in my 04 grand prix. Currently I am top swapped with stock gtp L32 heads. Since I have stock heads, I am only able to get away with 1.9 rockers correct? Also if I install them I would need to get heavier springs to go with it, 90# is what I believe I read. Is that all I would need? Maybe new retainers? Tuning would be needed I assume. I want to know as much as I can before I pull the trigger. Thanks in advance!

Xorbex (another member here) had trouble installing 1.9's on his 04+ gtp. I think its a clearance issue with something, but i'm pretty sure there could be issues. Maybe just with the Harland sharp ones, not sure, but my point was be cautious.

And yes, if you do get new rockers you should get heavier springs, new retainers, locks (you will lose some) and valve seals.

    BUT.

I though it had something to do with the push rods rubbing on the casting of the series 3 heads?

It was a while ago but DarkHorizon wrote a pretty long and fairly informative post about the issue.

That sounds about right. OP be mindful of this before you buy. And search for that thread.

I would much rather go cam but rockers would be a lot easier to install. That is a bummer that there is issues with them. I will try to find that thread and hope someone who has put rockers on an 04 plus comments on this.

Would 1.95 rockers be a better option than the 1.9's? Would that fit better?
