At least you aren't in the city, that likely increases your chances of finding one by about a billion %.
Ps.. bring new filter with you to ensure you get the right size fitting.
Re: Need advice on budging super rusty fuel filter
Seriously though. Why not just pay the $40

Definitely this. The one I showed you was just the first one I found to give you an image. And it was actually Autozone I got it. Brought filter and they pulled the kit from behind counter. Wasn't in the isles.

I think it is more fun to problem solve.

I don't want to make any generalizations about the people on here but I imagine that many, if not most of the people on this forum are do-it-yourself type folks and take satisfaction in working on their cars. Especially the difficult jobs.
Re: Need advice on budging super rusty fuel filter
You're missing the point I don't care how awesome of a DIY you or I are. For $40 and pos rusty fuel line , it makes more sense and less trouble. The convenience factor outweighs the time and money dumped into beating, heating , twisting , breaking and replacing lines. i mean lol fck dicking around with a stupid filter for a week
Re: Need advice on budging super rusty fuel filter
There's very little shop time on my car - alignments and tires only. But hey here's $40 - knock yourself out with that fuel filter while its up there ;)
Re: Need advice on budging super rusty fuel filter
the reality is that you're better off running a whole new line to the front to replace all the OEM nylon fuel lines and steel lines with either Teflon or rubber braided hose and quick connect fittings and convert to the double quick Connect filter
