So I am replacing my headers and figured that I should replace the resonator and the tips at the same time
It had a crack on it, the resonator
So I ordered one from rockauto and this is what I got
    http://
As you can see it looks a little bit shorter then the original one, will it still work
I also got the tips but I don't know if I should weld the or screw them on
They have like screw on clamps on the end
    What do you guys think?
    Thanks

It'll work and I would just clamp the tips where you want them. Then tack them on

since it needs to be welded on the res will work.

the tips most seem to have them welded on the car so you know they are on straight.

    I doubt it will fit.

You'll assume it fits and then weld up your exhaust off the car but then find that when you tighten the flange bolts the hangers will pull the whole exhaust forwards and it'll bang on stuff. So then you have to goto a parts store, buy a coupler, re-cut the exhaust, tack weld the coupler in and say **** it and take it to a muffler shop to have them weld the coupler in so you don't have to lift your car again and take the whole exhaust off again to weld it yourself.

that has to be welded in while up in the car, so the flange meets up right, they may have to add a few inches of pipe to the res.

dont try to pre weld that up.

    Got it, thanks
I was thinking of going to the parts store and getting a coupler today
And about welding it after I put it back on is a good idea
    Thanks again

yeah, bolt that res in, then put the mufflers up in their hangers and then weld it up pipes hung. if need be tack it up, then take the flange bolts out and a few the front hangers and you should be able to weld the top of the pipe.

Of course it won't fit if you do it this way. Do it properly and all will be fine.
