Hey guys, here's my current issue....

Cluster lights not working(during the day or night) while at the same time rear running lights do not work(day or night), brake lights work. This is not the first time for this issue. I've checked all fuses. Headlights does work.

I know a lil about electric but not all. I figured the cluster was controlled by the BCM which means the rear running lights must be on the same circuit somehow as the cluster(not totally sure). Tricky thing is that both cluster lights and rear running lights jumped out at the same time.

But just for the record the car does need a new cluster assembly....any ideas???

Well I would replace the cluster first and then go from there

That was my first thought, just a procrastinating situation on my behalf.

The headlights work at night but only if I pull the light switch out manually. My only idea is that there's something totally wrong with the cluster or there must be a fuse or a short with whatever that controls the lights from working automatically.

So this issue is only affecting my automatic lights basically at night since they don't come on during the day anyway, but the cluster lights won't come on at all. Gauges work.....just no lights(bulbs are good)

Any thoughts before I buy a cluster?

So I replaced the cluster and everything works except for the back lights of the cluster.......the headlights also still don't come on automatically at night and of if course the rear running lights remain inoperative.

These issues gotta be cluster related and a single wire that's connected to both the cluster and running lights/automatic headlights

check the harness in the trunk lid to the tail lights, this harness works the trunk lock, the lic plate lights, and the 4 running lights in the center tail light and the back up lights. the harness gets damages where it goes through the body of the car into the trunk. theres a plug there in the trunk so you can take the harness out and inspect it good.

mine took a crap on me, but only the marker lights, lic plate lights, and rev lights stopped working. i snagged a used harness at a part out when i took its center tail light. all works since then.
