    2000 Prix, 3.8L non-SC, 4T65E.

-Cruise control does not work. There is a pink wire and a brown wire above the pedals that don't appear to go anywhere. They follow the brake light switch wires(taped together) up to the main harness. When I hooked a toner up to them I was getting tone at the cruise control box so they're obviously for CC, but I can't figure out where they originally went. I don't see their other halves anywhere under the dash and the wiring from the steering column looks fine.

-Starting some time in the last few days the interior lights stopped working and I have no idea why. I haven't done anything except look at the wiring above the pedals to sort out that CC issue. INT LIGHT fuse is good. The only two fuses not present in the glovebox are for steering wheel controls and steering wheel lights, neither of which I need and both of which I put back in temporarily to be sure they're not causing the interior light issue. I can't even manually turn on the interior lights.

While outside playing with Torque Pro I realized my OBD port was cutting in and out, as seen by the power light on the OBD2 module. I also realized my brake lights were hit or miss. Thinking back over what I did that may have caused all this to happen, I realized something. There was a jumper wire from the top of the stop light fuse to the top of the HVAC high fuse but I did not know why, and I had removed it. I put that jumper wire back and everything is working again...except cruise obviously. What exactly is going on here?

Both center brake light bulbs work right?

If not that could make CC not work.

All bulbs appear to be working. CC doesn't work because of a wiring issue under the dash that I need to figure out. Detailed it in my first post.

Sounds like you are saying that someone has added wiring and you aren't sure what they did with that added wiring. Would that be correct? PRobably the best way to figure it out would be to find out which wires they tapped into. By testing the wiring you mentioned, you didn't actually get a true understanding of the wiring that was done.

Interior lighting, possibly cruise likely both go through the bcm
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

It doesn't appear that any wiring has been added or tapped in to. Everything looks OEM except for that jumper wire in the fuse box between brake light fuse and HVAC high fuse that makes my OBD port, brake lights, and interior lights work. I don't know why they don't work without that jumper. If I remove that jumper I get intermittent OBD port and brake lights, and no interior lights at all.

The pink and brown wires that lead up to the CC box appear to be cut but I don't know where they led to under the dash. They are bundled with the brake light switch wiring, but there is nothing in that area that looks like it is missing two wires. If I can figure out where these go I'm sure the cruise control would work. One theory I have is that they originally went to the brake light switch, but a previous owner swapped the switch out with one that doesn't have a spot for those two wires. I thought of this because that brake light switch is very loose like it has been messed with. Without seeing another car like this, or having someone tell me where those wires go, I'm not sure I'll be able to sort this out easily. Haynes diagram for CC definitely did not help.
