What do you want for GPF? There is never proof, only hearsay. Why not measure exhaust backpressure and datalog or dyno the results for proof. It'd be pretty easy to show gains in MAF readings if the exhaust truly did increase VE. Or again, shown on a dyno.
I think anything not on the following list is either not worth mentioning or not worth bragging about:
-Cam
-Intercooler
-Head work
-Power adder
If it ain't there, who the **** cares. It isn't going to magically net you more power unless you didn't select the right components to go with the other things on the list.
For example, top swap: without headers, it's a waste of time. You'll be on too large a pulley to make decent power.
Cam: without the proper valve springs, timing chain, push rods, rockers etc, again waste of time.
As for the details of how you get things done, that's up to the individual. There are certain products that work better than others, and everyone has their own standard for what is good enough. At the end of the day, it's your car, you're the one who has to live with it.
