Anyone know this? I believe stock lift is somewhere around .400" or slightly over that.

Curious what lift numbers the stock springs are rated too.

    Thanks!

Just think stock...because you'll float valves anything higher than stock lift.

I guess I am more curious about coil binding at the moment.. I have a set of 1.9 ZZP modified rockers coming in soon, and am wondering whether or not to invest in springs. I am going to stay very close to stock shift points (right around 5500rpm is the plan). With so many people saying they have ran stock springs with these rockers, I was wondering if the stock springs were rated higher than the stock cam lift. I usually have not seen that being the case with the LS motors I used to work on.

I wouldn't chance it and would go ahead and change the springs especially since your stockers probably have some decent miles on them. Plus springs are rather cheap and easy to do so it's a no brainer.

Most people graduate to 90+lb springs with 1.9's...I imagine due to float issues. Although, I've already been proven wrong in a post earlier so don't listen to me. LOL

changing the springs without doing the timing chain and/or tensioner also makes me nervous though!

My tensioner was cracking at ~88K miles. By that point, I had put maybe 5K on it with L76 springs and 1.9 rollers, the rest was stock. It's plastic. Always be afraid of old plastic, and any plastic you try and "force".

Just run 105lb springs and the proper retainers and whatnot. No need to touch the timing chain if your engine has been well maintained. I put 105lb springs on a 170k block with no issues for the 10k miles I had them on.

I believe the stock cam lift is .278, when combined with the 1.9 gives you .528 lift. Stock V springs or the L76 V springs allow .520, so you should be using the modified retainers to avoid bind. If you're going this route, also figure to replace your valve stem seals as well.

I used the L76 Spings with my rolling rockers as the sat pressure is pretty much the same as stock (90lbs) and therefore easy on valve train, tensioner,

anyone can correct me if wrong, thanks : )
