I have a 2007 GXP, and I have replaced the whole suspension including CV axles and bearings (hoping this would cause my clicking/turning issues). Well, I am still getting clicking, and it is difficult to turn the wheel. I can drive it, but I can absolutely tell the difference when driving my brother-in-law's base grand prix 04+. Around turns it will hesitate, and then pull, then hesitate again.

Do you think I have a rack and pinion problem, and what are my symptoms pointing to? I just can't seem to get a good answer when googling...

    Thanks.

You make sure you have PS fluid in the reservoir? Last time I had an issue where it was hard to steer the piping came undone and the PS had no fluid in it to do anything. Though that should be obvious check that first.

if it's only hard to turn left only your rack is bad.

98 Buick Regal GS, F body brakes, Caddy STS wheels, tinted tails L36 bottom end, lightly ported heads, 1.95 roller rockers, headers, gen 5 N* 3.0 pulley, FSIC, 42 lb injectors, a BrandonHall rebuilt trans, DHP tuned and AEM water/Meth injection https://goo.gl/gpV5kW

Just went and did some tests. Fluid is a little low, but well above the "Add" line.
The wheel is equally hard to turn left as it is right. I wouldn't call it hard, it should just be easier.. and more free.

check the boots for fluid leaks on the rack inner tie rods. if wet the rack is on its way out. if you hear the pump whine, change that.

any chance your abs light is on? when the abs light comes on in my car the magna steer quits working and its very firm to steer at idle or slower speeds.
