    Hi everyone,

I got a 2001 GTP and it's been treating me well but it's been having some strange issues.

The first problem is this where the CEL blinks when at I at least put more than 50% on the throttle and I see the little boost gauge fill up. Last I checked it it was a Cylinder 6 misfire I don't remember the code but I remember the message and the CEL light would stay solid if the blinking CEL would happen around twice a trip then go away the next time I start up the car. Merging on the highway can be a bit of a pain it feels like the acceleration hesistates when that boost gauge activates.

The other problem is fairly new. Sometimes when I start up the car I can hear it cranking but I gotta pump the gas pedal a couple of times to get it started and I have to reset my clock. Also, the horn sounds really weak sometimes when I use my keyfob as well as the power windows work then stop working then start working again.

Here is a summary of what I've done so far.

    Changed spark plugs and wires.
Cleaned out air intake, TB, and MAF sensor.
Used a fuel injector cleaner in the gastank. My dad wants to do a seafoam treatment through the vac lines later on.

My dad checked the coil packs a few months ago and he said they were fine.

Any help on the matter would be appreciated.

ill vote clogged cat if the plug wires are on right and you used iridium plugs.

I checked with my dad and yeah he did use Iridium plugs. A clogged catalytic converter would be strange though since this would be the second one to be changed and I've only had the car for three years, I don't think I'm running rich I haven't seen any exhaust color changes. Though my family suspects when I took the car back to the mechanic the first time to change the catalytic converter they replaced was of inferior quality. I really want to make this car last but the reliability of it taking me to work is getting suspect that I've had to drive my GTO.

I'll yank the oxygen sensor out to see if there is a performance difference later today to see what's going on.

Flashing CEL is a possible catalyst damaging condition. Aka typically misfires. If you weren't firing #6 and it's been acting up for a while, then you likely killed the newer cat.

Any luck keeping #6 from misfiring? Is the wire touching the O2 wiring anywhere? Are you cracking plugs trying to get them in past the o2?
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
