Hey guys how is it going? I think I have a problem. I took the engine cover off to check to see if things are in check. Were the 1,3,5 cylender head is at I found a puddle of something that is organge. Could that be a sign of a blown head gasket. The engine has 82000 mile on it.

Well I would think if it were a blown head gasket you would have some pretty noticeable performance issues. So my guess is more likely its a Lower Intake Manifold gasket issue.

Yeah I would go with the LIM gasket. The orange stuff is Dex cool.

I talked to my friend who use to work for the pontiac dealership in town told me most likely could be the intake gasket. I guess the reason I thought head gasket is with my girl friends old car had a head gasket problem and it still ran fine.

red box. and yea that would problew be coolent. i think the way they say to check for it is to spray break cleaner or something on the lower intake around the gasket (sorry i dident clarify in my original post) and see if it bubbles up, air comming out.

I also vote for a LIM gasket problem and the orange stuff being coolant.

Change the LIM gasket ASAP before it ruins your engine.

I have an appointment on tuesday for my car to get looked at. I hope the extended warranty covers it. If not how much am I looking at spending to get the car fixed? And what kind of problems could it cause to the engine?

Usually about $700 at a dealer. There's a lot of labor involved.

Dang that is a little high for a gasket. I guess it could be a lot worse.
