I have an 01 GP SE 3.1L. THe car will shift out of park if I take something and push the button that's right next to the shifter. Has anyone done the repair for this. I know you have to take the shift knob and the console apart to do this. Also, how do you take the shifter knob off? I know the GT and GTP's have the clip that you take off but SE's don't seem to have the clip.

most of the time thats a broken wire to the shiftier plug. no idea how your console comes off, most the top trim seems to pop up around the shiftier. then theres 2 bolts holding the console down, with a 2 more in the console storage, and a few screws to the dash.

Thanks Scottydoggs, I'm going to go out there and play with it for a bit and see what I come up with.
