    SO...fix the 2 problems you have. my suggestion would be to buy the 06 motor (if it's complete) since it is so cheap, and use the supercharged top end of it on your car (gen V top swap). if it were me I would pull the motor then fix everything just to make it easier on myself, but I don't know your mechanical skills or vehicle situation. keep in mind there is some custom work to be done with the gen V swap

    Thank you for your input. I was unaware of how much a rebuild would cost. What makes it so expensive ? Only thing I'm worried with doing a top swap is my transmission. 194k on the car. Runs perfect. Shifts smooth. I'm only the second owner and first owner was a older woman so it's been driven pretty conservative. I don't have a fast car so I don't race car it around. And my family and I are perfectly capable of doing it. Brother is a certifie GM mechanic. Other brother already rebuilt a 3800 motor for his
    lesabre t type. Which is still on the engine stand haha. And my dad is just a old head with cars. Taught himself. Still has his toys too.
