I am going to have to go back and look at my past receipts but I believe that I have had the right front hub assembly replaced in the past due to a C0041 code before , which is the right front speed sensor/Circuit Range, Performance. Whether or not that is true remains to be seen(i have to go back and look at my receipts) but around Thanksgiving the ABS/Trac Off Light came on and found out before Christmas, after it continually came on that the code was C0041 and C0245 (wheel speed sensor malfunction). I am out of town so i went to Midas b/c my father in law has got a good relationship with the mechanic and said that i could trust them over there so i had them look at it.

They said that the abs right front harness had been burned due to not being installed properly in the past (perhaps when i got the sensor(i.e hub assembly) replaced the first time. So they replaced the front abs harness , drove it and the light didnt come on. I purposefully drove it for about a day and the light didnt come back on(In the past I could tell when the light was about to come on because you can feel/hear the abs computer module humming and working to try to resolve its issue with the sensor). On day 2 when i was driving it, i kid you not the light came on again, both the ABS and trac off light with the same codes C0041 and C0245.

So after new years I take it back into them, they do a diagnostic and he said that the only thing that it could be was the hub assembly needs to be replaced(since the sensor it part of the hub assembly) or the ABS computer module needs to be replaced. So in my mind I am thinking - "i am pretty sure that I have had this replaced before, but maybe since the harness was no good, perhaps the sensor was also burnt out as well). The mechanic said that without replacing the hub assembly there is no way to know whether it was the hub assembly or the ABS module. So being in a precarious situation and about to travel, i went ahead and had him replace it with a new right front wheel assembly. He drove it and the light came back on again with codes C0041. I asked him about the readings(resistance, etc) from the sensor and he said that they all came back fine.

So now that i have shelled out money for a hub assembly and a wire harness and still the problem isnt fixed I am wondering what course of action I should take. The mechanic said that he would look up a price for the ABS control module and call me tomorrow. One of the things that I did not ask him was if he tried resetting/reprogramming the ABS control module. I have read online that this has helped codes from coming back - perhaps the computer module has found itself in a bad state. I just got home from driving it. I drove it for a minute or so and then stepped on the brake. I felt the brake moving back and forth on you(like you dont have 100% brakes) and you can hear the computer module with a "humming" sound. After a few minutes of this the ABS turned itself off and the ABS & Trac OFF light came on.

The main question I have for you guys is, is why would I get a C0041, replace the wire harness, and the hub assembly and after all that, and then the same code continues to come on. If the ABS control module has gone bad why would I get a specific code for the right speed sensor? Is there not a code that says, "hey you have a bad abs control module"?.

I am desperate for a solution. I have not spent $157 on the wire harness and $279 on a front hub assembly (counting parts and labor) and no solution.

Thanks for all your thoughts/questions/comments in advance
