    Hi all,

So i've been away at school so my car has had some downtime. I have my dad drive it once in awhile however to keep everything running. in August after driving on the highway for about 20 miles the rpms kept jumping around. It seemed like the car was almost stuck in race mode, where it didn't want to shift at its normal points. then after it shifted i would be going about 30 and let off the gas pedal it jumped around and then stalled. got it running after a couple cranks and limped it home. Then it drove perfectly fine for a couple weeks and drove perfectly fine. Then another time i was driving it home it stalled after a left hand turn. 2 days later i was leaving for school and just kind of left it. MY dad has driven it about 8 times and it drove fine except one time. he was driving it up a hill and it stalled. so now fast forward to last weekend, it drove fine but then randomly stalled. then i would start it and it would die or try to stay running at around 400 rpms. so i had to put my foot on the gas for a little to keep it running and to get it to a safe spot. i then started it and shut it off a couple times. after that it drove home just fine. about 6 months ago i got a code about the throttle position sensor, i deleted it to see if it came back but it didn't. So i tested the tps sensor on Saturday thinking thats what was wrong and it was perfectly fine. So i'm thinking its the crank position sensor. I have no codes at all. Am i on the right track or am i completely off? i won't be home for 2 weeks but when i do get home for break i would like to end this problem.

    Thanks,

    Chris

Sounds like a crank position sensor to me.

Do you happen to notice if the tach drops to 0 before it shuts down? This is a tell tale sign of a bad ckps.
