dropping with ssc springs soon, fixing axle geometry, along with the other added advantages
the "other added advantages" are things ZZP made up to try and sell pontiac montana dogbones that they got for $2 for whatever they're selling them for.
they'll not benefit you and you're best off spacing up the motor mounts given that you have some axle bind. you might lose a little hood clearance.
being that i already bought them, im more looking for answers to my question, rather than alternatives.
thank you sir
i don't see why it's not possible. the mounts will just be a bit stiffer so it might be slightly more difficult to pull the motor forwards to get them bolted in. however, there's no reason why they wouldn't work. watch your fan clearance with the headers, you may have to trim some of the flashing on the fans to get everything to clear nicely.
okay, thanks.
i just saw a thread on here, where a member who has a gxp and poly mounts could not move engine forward without "ripping stuff" as they put it
Gxp are different we have two lower mounts plus a trans mount. You 3800 guys have one lower mount and one trans mount. Making it easier to pull your engine forward. With poly and the failure rate/cracking of Zzp poly mounts I would highly recomened spacers instead of the pulling the engine forward. You can sell what you have for what you bought it for.and with SSC springs and the mild drop you don't need to do either.
they may fit and they may not.. i see you have SD headers so not sure if they will clear the firewall or not. i tried to install the shorter dog bones a while back and my Pacesetters did not clear so i couldn't pull the engine forward enough to install them, as for using them with poly mounts i dont see any issue with that.
alternative would be like Bio said and just get engine and trans spacers to raise the engine up a little bit.
