Great Pair of Headlights? Help?

I bought a pair of assemblies about 2 years back. Was very disappointed on the pair i got but never gotten around to return them. The output is decent but definitely could be better. I see mostly the beams in the middle of the road then i do illumination. With OEMs, you see straight up illumination. You can tell its just junk aftermarket.

Could someone that has bought a pair of assemblies tell me where i could buy a good pair? I want nothing to do with HIDs or those other stylish headlights, i just dont feel like doing the conversion but if a pair can throw an awesome output on high beams then maybe. Im more for brightness then style though so please keep that in mind.

Headlights don't make light.

Bulbs do. If you want bright lights then you'll have to ditch the halogen bulbs and convert to the Hid world. They are fairly cheap and easy to install. You could take it a step further and install them in your fogs for maximum brightness.

Not 100% true... The headlight assembly does in fact make a difference... My retros with HIDs are FAR brighter then my stock headlights with HIDs.

I would imagine because your retrofits have projectors and your stock headlights don't. One would think the retrofits would be brighter.

To the original poster, there's only so much output you can hope for with halogens. Yes a better set of housings will increase output but I would. Imagine it would be marginal at best unless the housing have serious fading and clouding issues. My suggestion as noted above is to grab a pair of hids to increase output by a bigger margin and enjoy the bright lights. Your call though just offering my opinion

Have any links to point me on a good pair? How bad is the conversation?

The only problem also is that I heard they're illegal in the state of Michigan. Unless vehicles that come out of the factory with them.

Lol... I am in MI myself... I have ran HIDs for a few years now... Never an issue..

That's HIDs in a set of retros with HID fogs.

Wish I could get some fogs but I need to get my bumper fixed first. But the headlights is what I want done first. Those are pretty nice, how are they on high beams? Ive heard some are not that good on high beams.

Possibly point me to a link to the pair you got?

High beans are only available if you get the Bi-Xenon kit . Highs are not really needed with HIDs though... The head light assemblies I have are custom made. But you can get the HIDs at

I have 5k on both... They turn out a nice bright white with great light output.

If you buy the Bi-Xenon kit you can. I can do highs because of the retros. If you want highs in a stock headlight you will need the Bi-Xenons.
