Just installed front fbody calipers on my 02 gtp. Got to rear fbody calipers and no threading on the caliper bracket. Am I supposed to tap the holes? If so for what bolt size. I got the red powder coated powerstop fbody calipers.

no one uses them. not sure what the end issue is, wheel clearance or there're not worth using. not sure.

Well I have 18 inch rims I think I'm good on clearance. I dont mind if its even a small upgrade I've already bought them. Just seems the holes on brackets need to be tapped for the install to be made like fronts were

iirc it'll be an integral parking brake caliper much like the 04/05 compG used to get rid of the additional weight of the parking brake "drum in the hat" stuff

Will the fbody rear rotor work with rear grand prix gxp calipers? I bought them already. Also would changing the rear rotor to aftermarket get rid of the e brake?? I guess what i want to know is whats the best upgrade here for the rear brakes? Im guessing youll just say nice new pads..

The only upgrade is gxp rears. I think someone did a ctsv rear too, but the fab work makes it pointless unless you do it yourself.
And no, changing rotors does not get rid of your abs.

Yea F- Body rear calipers isn't going to work without big modifications. Stick with the stock rear calipers or upgrade to the 04+ GP calipers.

keep in mind your changing the rear knuckle also to swap brakes from a 04 up, and you need the e brake cables to work with them.

No info on gm parts direct. Junk yards show 2003-2012 but that's most likely due to the Imapala. For safe measure, just grab rear knuckles from 04+.

The gxp rears bolt directly to a 97 to 03 rear knuckles..it's the same as the gxps, the rear ebrake is in the rotor hat for the gxp, the 04 plus non gxp ebrake is built into the caliper....for gxp rear up grade in a 97 to 03 all you need is calipers, brackets, rubber brake lines, and rotors off a 05 to 08 gxp..bolts right up...nothing else is needed

thank you for this info. Now to find powder coated powerstop gxp rear calipers.. Anyone know where to find them? Also is there any real benefit to the gxp front calipers over fbody?

Gxp fronts are a little bigger rotor than fbody.
