I am wondering if anyone has ever considered a true dual exhaust setup with and x pipe. Just wondering what it would sound like?? If I were to try it I might go with OBX headers, 2.5"pipe into, high flo cat, 2.5" xpipe, & borla xr1 mufflers. Might be overkill but pretty damn kewl.

There isn't a whole lot of room under the car, and double pipe would have to stick out pretty low. I think that's what has kept most people from doing it.

if you really wanted to do this, would you not think of welding in a couple bungs? come on now.

its pointless to do on our cars, it wont make nearly enough difference to matter. our headers flow just as much as we need. actually, i havent heard of any one person saying that they have outflowed any of the sets of headers we have.

Of coarse it would be nice to gain HP & TQ but that's not the main reason I posted BIO248 i'm more interested in how it would sound. This is probably not a good example but....when I went from a cat-back to a TD setup on my LS1 transam it sounded different. I'm just wondering what it would sound like that all :-)

Almost every person who's gotten PaceSetters, and now OBX, has mentioned this thought. I'd like to see them follow through & find out if it still sounds like p00p due to the front bank being offset by an extra 2-3ft still.

My idea was much simpler, just posted about it on CGP. (will update with a sketch, in a few)

We just pulled something like this off on a GXP. X-pipe from y-pipe, (didn't use the obx headers) and 2.5in duals to the back. No cats. check it out, pics included, just posted it.

A few years ago I bought a 99 GT that had true dual exhaust. Here are some pictures.

Honestly didnt think it was possible to make a 3800 sound worse than it does. It sounds like a tractor or some old VW motor. Plus that exhaust routing seems horrible.
