Thread: Mods for my 98 GTP

What's the point of wasting money only to gain 10-15 HP? I always say if you do something go big or go home. Headers are complicated especially the brand you buy and who does it. A shop will always have issues with cheaper brand of headers and will charge out the ass to mod the mods..lol...I am taking mine to ZZP, screw all the crap. Shops around here want $500+ to install them not including the cost of the headers, clamps, and gaskets so I might as well pay ZZP $850 to install their brand and be done with it.

Yes but considering header install is very advanced and complicated, I be paying $200 additional to have them installed. I'm not looking to create a total speed demon. I may be able to drop to a 3.5" even if I don't do headers.

Holy hell! Your paying $850 plus the cost of headers!? Not worth it bro! Just my opinion though, do what you want

But still, think about it. You can get a ZZP downpipe for 150 if you send your old cat in and get $50 back. Install yourself, that saves you $700 to do other stuff to your car! A quality tune, CAI, spark plugs, anything! If your set on headers, go for it

I just don't understand what a downpipe has to do with anything except for it being a little less restrictive. I mean headers should be way better than just throwing on a downpipe.

Headers: probably 3.4" pulley

Downpipe: probably 3.5" pulley

All depends on your situation but it boils down to, is the extra gain from headers worth an additional $700?

I already have a quality tune from Intense, a cold air intake that I made and colder iridium spark plugs.

Yes it was, so what can I do to correctly tune this since it is obvious I have no clue what I am doing?

Guessing this is a mail order tune? Hate to break it to you but a mail order tune can only do so much. A in car tune can adjust the tune to your car not just some generic **** that some guy put together because it worked on another car.
