Hey guys i was wondering is it possible to change out the newer ac control unit under the HU to the older style ac control unit with the knobs to adjust the temperature. i just think they look nicer in the gp's then that cheap looking knob to control the fan speed and the cheap looking dual climate sticks. I have looked through the forum but i have not found anyone who has done a write up on this topic. please if anyone could let me know if it is possible and or write up a how to thanks.

My car has the one with just the buttons, and I wish I had the one with the knobs. It is just to complicated to change out due to the systems integration into the computers and other stuff for it to operate properly. The buttons looks the same and sometimes the sun shines in and you cannot see the lights on the buttons. I am constantly getting one button confused for the other and have to stop to think and remember which one I need to press. Also, regargless of the temp. inside the car, I just want cold air on me. I don't like to be driving along and then have the air start coming out warm because the automatic system is trying to maintain a temperature inside the car, it makes me think something is going wrong with the a/c every time it does that, it annoys me.

You dont have to use the auto system though. What I do if I want it ultra cold or ultra hot is just turn the nob all the way to coldest or hottest setting, then use the fan speed changing buttons to adjust the flow. Bypasses the auto system. I like the auto system for long trips though. If you're driving for a few hours you can just set it to a comfortable temp and forget about it, as opposed to constantly fuddling with the fan speeds.

But for the OP I dont think it would be a very easy change over, but I dont really know honestly. Probably a different wiring harness.
