1. Did you bleed the cooling system after changing the gaskets and thermostat?

2. The park pawl for the wipers is likely bent. If you pull the cowl off the wipers and get to the drivers side you can bend the pawl back down where it needs to be so the wipers will park. Take a read through these posts and it should fix you up....
