My Regal was recently damaged. It has a L26 block swapped in place of the original L67, a "top swap". When the swap was done the Aluminum oil pan was used, and the original cradle of the 1997 Regal was ground for clearance. Now that the cradle needs to be replaced I am looking at swapping in an aluminum one from a 00-03 Monte/impala, what else would I need besides just the cradle? Motor mounts etc?

I have insurance and the car was not declared totaled, so a shop will be doing all the work... They did say that there repairs come with a 3 year/36k warrantee though. So probably no build thread pics ;( I will do another 3800 build sometime though

I heard about a wishbone mount? Or something like that.. Different for the L26 block? Can't seem to find the info I need. Maybe I just suck at searching.

If you have the aluminum oil pan it should be a straight swap I'm thinking.

It's a straight swap. I did however add 1/2" of spacers to the top and bottom of the engine mount only. The pass side looked a little low to me after the swap. One other thing, on my 2000 GS the power steering cooling section of the line hangs down and cips on the steel from between the mount bucket and the rear of the frame. The aluminum frame has a solid piece there. I allowed the line to sit in that flat area for the last 3 years and 60,000 miles. I've checked it a few times and planned to go with the police package (impala) 91c front mount cooler if it ever showed signs of wearing etc. So far..it looks good.

Have you thought about the rear suspension?
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

The way the car hit the curb only the front right went over it. Insurance is only covering the damaged parts so sadly the rear will remain stock, thank ou for the info Bill!
