Scottydogs, did you throw away the part of your gasket that broke off?
i watch helplessly it as it fell into the front of the engine, never to be found.
like i said, it leaked with out that part of the gasket under the snout, so i pulled that bolt, and smeared rtv all over it, it held for 2 years, and would have held longer.
some cars leak, some dont from this area. it has no reason to leak, but mine did and a few other guys had the same issue, its rare.
Lol thanks! I smeared the lim with rtv and will do the same with the bolt tommorow before i fill it up!!
Just fired it up and drove it around my neighborhood with no leakage. Am i in the clear??
just keep an eye on it. and look at the ground too
Guess it didn't hold. It's going on craigslist now.
what that bolt leak?
if so just smear rtv all over it, then snug it back up.
Scottydogs, it's getting damp around the bottom edges of the LIM.
pics? is it clear oil?
You wont be able to see from the pics. I took a QTip and wiped around the bottom edge of the lim and there was like some grayish color. I'm thinking it might not be leaking after all!
check the fluid level, that will tell you if it leaking or not.

I wiped around the lim after about 15 minutes of driving. It was kinda slimy but I wiped it off and this is all there was.
if you spray brake cleaner all over, it will get rid of any oil residue, check the fluid level, if its full still drive it some more, then see if any oil forms around the snout on the lim.
Ok I'll try the brake cleaner. I've wiped it with a napkin twice and it seems to stay slick so ill try that when I get home. I'm not gonna worry about it even if its a slow leak.
Latest on the leak: if its leaking at all, it's very very slow. The supercharger plug is stripped so I can't check the oil level in it. Any way to get that plug out?
mine was a torx, not a allen like most are. but it also stripped out, so i used a screw driver tapped into what was left of the allen or torx.
Yeah mines a torx and the driver just ground it into shreds. Ill try a flathead, thanks
