So taking part in Meshif's thread, there was discussion about Speed Daddy headers jumping up to over $700.00 (yes that is correct, 7 - 0 - 0 doll hairs)

I thought no way, went to check, yup. Thought this has to be a typo, looked around their store, nope, same. So I emailed them.

    Said email -
    Dear speed_daddy,

What has changed about these headers?

I ask because you have chosen to TRIPLE the retail value of these over the past month. They were the best bargain and the ones recommended most by the forums, but now they are the most expensive ones listed. At their current price, they are only $50 less than SLP Headers which are presumably the best headers you can buy on the market, so I would assume that they are now of the same quality. Better brackets supplied than before, fixed the issue with single wall flex pipes and upgraded to a double wall flex as SLP did, using better metals than the cheaper steel previously used.
Please let me know what has changed to warrant the drastic increase in price.

For the record, without a list of reasons with the increased price you will likely loose substantial business with the 3800 community, Pacestter will probably pick up on sales as they are now the better choice. Please explain why we should continue to recommend you for headers.

    Sincerely, TL.

    - tlsheff
The response I got was a little puzzling... I think they are dropping the line-up completely.
    Dear tlsheff,

I do apologize, but this item is currently backordered. It was raised in price because our listing department has flagged it for removal. They are working to get the flagged listings removed.

    Thank you,
I am sending a follow-up response to be certain of whether or not they will be completely dropping the sale of headers for our cars, if it is then we will need to revise the Header Thread as it will not be the best bang for the buck, and the price has dropped down to $225 for the SSAC headers from $299 as it states in the thread.

Just thought I would bring this to light for the regulars.

It has been over $700 for more then just a few weeks now, I think going on 2 months. Pretty insane, I would never pay that much for headers. Maybe I need to take the headers off my car and sell them for $600.

I do believe those are the designs that don't fit, the Pacesetter design.

Tell ya what.. for the issues with SSAC/Dream Moto, I'd almost be willing to take a dead motor as a mock up and hand it to Josh aka welder that did Swiggles stuff so he can correct/redo whatever needs to be corrected and sell them slightly above their low cost.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Who marks up an item to be de-listed? Guess they would rather the inventory sit around.

There is no inventory they said that in the email. They raise the price so people will stop buying them so ot gives them time to remove the item from the site(s)

X2 they raised it a few weeks ago so no one would buy them because they are backordered. I doubt they remove it completely.

I didnt know SSACs had fitment issues? I thought they were the same as Speed Daddys. Did you mean OBX and their knock offs?

That's a shame, as I'm trying to convince my cousin to mod his 07 GT.
Oh well, I love my ZZP headers and I'll never let them go.

they just ran out of them..

    its happened before.

they'll get restocked than the price drops again.

if they do stay at 700.
then realistcally a PLOG and DP would be the cheapest way to make power.

Yep agree they just ran out is all. Seen it happen time and time again. Right before I bought my last set a month ago they were $700 then they became available for a short time at normal price and everyone quickly Bought em up. It'll be several months I'm sure so dont hold your breathe but check often cuz they don't last long.

They have been out of stock basically since January, I have read many threads posted since then of people stating that they ordered them and were just given a refund like 3 days later. And as far as I am aware of plogs are out of stock from zzp, idk who else makes them.
